Dr. Michael Zaycosky
Dr. Michael Zaycosky is Board Certified in both Dermatology and Mohs surgery and is proud to be the first and only Mohs Micrographic Surgeon in Erie County. He has a dedicated interest in the early detection and treatment of skin cancer, as well as the management of many common dermatologic disorders including acne and psoriasis. His priority is helping patients achieve healthy skin and improving their quality of life.
Dr. Zaycosky received his medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine and practiced family medicine for five years at the Erie VAMC. While it was difficult to leave Erie, family, and friends, it was always his intent to return to Erie trained in dermatology. Relocating to the sunshine state was an ideal setting for his dermatology training. He then completed an additional three-year residency in dermatology at KCU-GME Dermatology Residency of Orlando. Here Dr. Zaycosky had extensive training in Mohs Micrographic Surgery participating in over 4,000 cases. Prior to returning to Erie, he worked in Fayetteville, Georgia splitting his time between both Mohs Surgery and General Dermatology. Here, he performed an additional 3,000 Mohs surgeries and sat for and passed the inaugural Micrographic Dermatologic Surgery Board-Certification exam.
He is certified by the American Board of Dermatology and a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery.
Dr. Zaycosky moved back to Erie with his wife and family last year where they enjoy home renovations, gardening, their pets (4 dogs and 1 cat), and all the outdoor activities the area has to offer throughout the year.
